Happy Anniversary!

So a couple of days ago, it was my 1 year natural hair anniversary. This year has been full of ups and downs and¬†full of learning experiences. But all and all I wouldn’t change anything, I will never go back to have relaxed hair, not saying anything bad for those that choose to remain relaxed….but for myself I can never see myself going back to that. I have seen so much progress in my hair, so much growth and so much more strength. Being natural has allowed me so much more freedom, I go to the gym more than I ever have in my life because I don’t have to worry about sweating out my hair. There is so much versatility with having natural hair, one day it can be straight, the next curly, or pretty much any hairstyle that I can imagine. I’m very happy to have made it one year strong and I look forward to many more years to come!

Now it’s your turn….

L.O.C Method

So this one is for my natural sisters. It will be one year since I have been natural, and I’m still working on how to master the L.O.C method. For those who don’t know what the LOC method is, it is a technique that is used to moisturize your hair and help with retaining that moisture a little bit longer throughout your week. The L stands for leave-in or liquid the O stands for oil, and the C stands for cream. Now there isn’t any set way on how to do this, I’ve heard of people and their different ways to master this method and they all seem interesting. Here are a couple of products that I use…

L- if I’m not using water I use¬†ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructrizer¬†or¬†Aloe Vera Juice¬†(diluted). You can use any leave in conditioner that works best for your hair.

O-¬†If I don’t use my beloved coconut oil I usually use whatever I ¬†have on hand. You can use Jojoba, almond, argan, olive, grapeseed, tea tree and amla oil, all the way down to shea butter. Or you can even make your own little concoction.

C- For creams there are¬†so many options. I personally love¬†As I Am products, so I use the leave in conditioner. I also use¬†Karen’s Body Beautiful Leave in Conditioner. I sometimes use styling creams as well if I’m not doing this as my nightly routine.

So there is not set products to use, you kind of have to find the right combinations that work best for you. Yes it has taken me a few different tries but this method really helps. I know my ladies that may have recently big chopped have experienced some more dryness than they are usually use to. This LOC method will definitely help with that and it allows you to retain that moisture for a little bit longer throughout the week. If you have any products that you use, please share!

I need answers !

Ladies, if you have tried hair infinity I would like to know how you feel about it. Do you see any difference in the length or growth of your hair? Does it make you break out the way that I have been hearing? Please if you tried it, let me know. I am interested in trying it but I want to make sure its well worth the money.

Let me take you on my hair journey

I had my first relaxer when I turned 12, I always had long healthy hair, but once I got that relaxer I noticed even at that age how my hair was breaking off. I eventually had to cut it because of the damage that was done. And now being 22 I have decided that I wanted to go back to being natural. This is my second time going natural, the first time I did it which was a couple of years ago, I didn’t take care of it and the hair was still falling out. Now this time around I am dedicated to taking the time out and actually caring for my hair so that I can have nice healthy hair.  The first two pictures are of me going through my transition phase, and the picture that is on the bottom left is the day that i decided to chop the rest of my relaxed ends off and the last picture is where I am at today. I have to say I have never been happy with the way that my hair is growing. It feels so much healthier and it feels so much stronger. Going natural had to be the best decision I have ever made, not only has it given me such freedom but it has also given me this confidence that I have never had before. Anyways enough about me, I want to hear some of the stories out there about your natural hair journey ladies, leave a comment !
