Product review Friday: OGX

This weekend I purchased the OGX Kukui oil conditioner and Frizz Defying Curl Cream. Normally this product is usually $7-$8 depending on your area. Most of the time you can find this in any local drug store in your area (I didn’t buy the shampoo because I don’t usually shampoo my hair that often so I didn’t want to waste my money). Here’s what I thought about it…

PROS– BOGO sale most of the time! Besides smelling extremely good, this conditioner gives my hair lots of slip making it easier for me to detangle in the shower. I like how thick the product is and how moisturizing it feels when it’s applied. After washing it out my hair felt super soft and had a nice sheen to it as well. I used the Frizz Defying Curl Cream, to style my hair (a little bit goes along way). This cream is BOMB y’all, when I took out my twists the next morning, they were bouncy, shiny and super defined. I also felt that this combination allowed me to have 3 and 4 day hair without any frizz or disturbance in my curls (unless it was done on purpose).

CONS– Honestly the only con that I could really say about this product would be the amount of product in the actual bottle. I felt that a lot of it was unused space and they could have filled that baby to the top so I could have more!

I love the OGX line and have tried other products but this Kukui oil made me fall in love with my hair all over again. I would definitely recommended this product and if you’ve tried it already tell me what you liked or didn’t like about it.

L.O.C Method

So this one is for my natural sisters. It will be one year since I have been natural, and I’m still working on how to master the L.O.C method. For those who don’t know what the LOC method is, it is a technique that is used to moisturize your hair and help with retaining that moisture a little bit longer throughout your week. The L stands for leave-in or liquid the O stands for oil, and the C stands for cream. Now there isn’t any set way on how to do this, I’ve heard of people and their different ways to master this method and they all seem interesting. Here are a couple of products that I use…

L- if I’m not using water I use ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructrizer or Aloe Vera Juice (diluted). You can use any leave in conditioner that works best for your hair.

O- If I don’t use my beloved coconut oil I usually use whatever I  have on hand. You can use Jojoba, almond, argan, olive, grapeseed, tea tree and amla oil, all the way down to shea butter. Or you can even make your own little concoction.

C- For creams there are so many options. I personally love As I Am products, so I use the leave in conditioner. I also use Karen’s Body Beautiful Leave in Conditioner. I sometimes use styling creams as well if I’m not doing this as my nightly routine.

So there is not set products to use, you kind of have to find the right combinations that work best for you. Yes it has taken me a few different tries but this method really helps. I know my ladies that may have recently big chopped have experienced some more dryness than they are usually use to. This LOC method will definitely help with that and it allows you to retain that moisture for a little bit longer throughout the week. If you have any products that you use, please share!

I did my cousins hair for the holidays and she loved it. This was my first time styling someone else’s hair and it came out great. Let me know what you guys think!

The countdown is on!

Vacation is in 12 days and I’m so excited! Can’t wait to look at some apartments and hopefully pick one so we can get this move on the road. Last month and this month have been really stressful, been working really hard, sleeping very little and been breaking out like crazy. I feel like a teenager all over again, I’m trying to get myself together before I go see my boo so I have somewhat changed my diet and been using some different products to get my skin back the way it was. I hear some naturals say they have experienced some minor breakouts once they turned natural, has anyone else found that to be true? Give me some recommendations on what I could use on my face.

I need answers !

Ladies, if you have tried hair infinity I would like to know how you feel about it. Do you see any difference in the length or growth of your hair? Does it make you break out the way that I have been hearing? Please if you tried it, let me know. I am interested in trying it but I want to make sure its well worth the money.
